The Public Finance Investment Banking Managing Director is responsible for leading the firm's public finance investment banking practice. This role involves overseeing a team of bankers, originating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, developing financial solutions, and leading transaction execution.
Develop and execute the firm's public finance investment banking strategy in collaboration with senior management.
Originate new business opportunities and manage existing client relationships to generate revenue for the firm.
Lead the development and maintenance of financial models to support the structuring and execution of complex municipal bond financings for public entities.
Prepare pitch books, offering documents, and other client presentations to support business development efforts and marketing initiatives.
Oversee the due diligence process and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution of transactions.
Manage a team of junior bankers and delegate tasks as needed to ensure successful transaction execution.
Interact with rating agencies, underwriters, and other external stakeholders on behalf of clients.
Monitor industry trends and provide strategic advice to clients based on market conditions and financial analysis.
Work closely with senior bankers to develop creative financial solutions for clients and negotiate transaction terms.
Lead the development of marketing materials and participate in industry conferences and events.
Participate in the recruiting, training, and development of junior team members.
Act as a point of contact for clients throughout the transaction process and manage overall client relationships.
Oversee the management of the firm's public finance investment banking business, including revenue generation, budgeting, and staffing decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in investment banking, finance, or related field, with a focus on municipal finance.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
Ability to lead and manage teams, including coaching and mentoring junior team members.
