The Public Finance Investment Banking VP will work closely with senior bankers to originate, structure, and execute complex municipal bond financings for public entities. This role involves managing client relationships, developing financial solutions, and leading transaction execution.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Originate new business opportunities and manage existing client relationships to generate revenue for the firm.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support the structuring and execution of complex municipal bond financings for public entities.

  • Prepare pitch books, offering documents, and other client presentations to support business development efforts and marketing initiatives.

  • Lead the due diligence process and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution of transactions.

  • Manage junior team members and delegate tasks as needed to ensure successful transaction execution.

  • Interact with rating agencies, underwriters, and other external stakeholders on behalf of clients.

  • Monitor industry trends and provide strategic advice to clients based on market conditions and financial analysis.

  • Work closely with senior bankers to develop creative financial solutions for clients and negotiate transaction terms.

  • Lead the development of marketing materials and participate in industry conferences and events.

  • Participate in the recruiting, training, and development of junior team members.

  • Act as a point of contact for clients throughout the transaction process and manage overall client relationships.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

  • 7-12 years of experience in investment banking, finance, or related field, with a focus on municipal finance.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.

  • Ability to lead and manage junior team members.

  • In-depth knowledge of complex municipal finance and bond markets is required.

  • Series 79 and 63 licenses are required. Additional licenses, such as Series 7 or Series 52, may be preferred depending on the firm's requirements.

  • Strong track record of business development and revenue generation.
